REVIEW

Wife Extraordinaire by Kiki Swinson is the story of two couples: Leon & Charlene and Troy & Trice who sign up for the show Trading Wives. The idea is that the men are to trade wives and whoever is able to make it work best, will then win $10,000.

Ex-Wife Status by Amaleka McCall is a story any woman can relate to. It’s about a woman who puts her heart and soul into a relationship with a man, just to be mistreated and unappreciated. Will she finally have enough and move on? Or will she try to get him to see the woman he has in her? Could there possibly be a third option to this story?

Wife Extraordinaire was not a full novel. It was actually two stories by two authors: Kiki Swinson and Amaleka McCall. The cover alone is misleading because you think you are purchasing a full-length novel by the author whose name is boldly printed on the cover. There is no mention of Ms. McCall on the cover nor the synopsis.  In reading the synopsis it seems as though this is one novel by one author. Totally misleading! Both stories  were extremely predictable and kind of rushed. It felt as if the author purposely set up the storyline so that there would be minimal thinking involved for the reader to figure things out. All the information is out in the open with no opportunity for guessing. This took all the intrigue of the story away. Both stories felt rushed for an abrupt ending. Although I did like the concept of the stories, especially with the modern-day wife swap, it was too light of a read and just made for a so-so read.
