Alex Cross investigates a series of baffling murders while balancing a family crisis that threatens to upend his entire world in this thriller from the world's #1 bestselling author, James Patterson.

Alex Cross is a brilliant psychologist―and a relentless hunter of killers for the FBI and DC Metro Police.

To his beloved Nana Mama, he’s still the boy she raised―and every morning, as he straps on his service weapon, she’s reminded just how dangerous his world has become.

But in Washington, DC, there are places even the police don’t go―an unseen underworld where violence thrives and rules don’t apply. And this time, Alex is stepping straight into it.

Each move pulls him deeper into the dark―and closer to a case that could shatter the promise he made to Nana … and cost him everything he holds most dear.

The Family Cross proves that even after all these years of writing, James Patterson still knows how to surprise the Alex Cross fans.

At first, it seems like just another dangerous case, but it soon turns much more personal. As Alex faces a world full of violence and corruption, the risks go far beyond just solving a crime. The people who matter most to him are what make this story so gripping.

The Cross family relationships have always been one of the show’s great strengths. Nana Mama is still the soul of the family and Alex’s relationship with his family is such a key part of the series. Patterson is absolutely right in that the audience don’t just want to see Alex as a detective, they want to see him as a man, as a family man, as someone who’s been through all that he has.

The story moves very quickly and what really hits you is the emotional weight of it. There are so many tense, uncertain and heartbreaking moments which really do stay with you. It’s not just a crime thriller really. It’s about love, about loyalty, about sacrifice and the sobering reality that no one, not even the strongest of people, can protect everyone from the worst that life has to offer.

The Family Cross is full of suspense and emotion and you won’t forget it. The Family Cross is another example of why James Patterson continues to have us invested in Alex Cross and his world after all these years.
