Before the wonderful world of Social Media, X-box, PlayStation, and countless other time soakers… we had Tic-Tac-Toe. I remember going outside and playing this game for hours. Yes! Children there is thing called OUTSIDE. As a kid, we would take Tic-Tac-Toe to the ultimate level. We would use a broken brick (our version of chalk) and draw an oversize board. Sometimes we would draw the X’s & O’s – other times we would have a team and use ourselves as the X’s & O’s.
Don’t Judge Us? We knew how to make use of our time.
Ok now on to Tic Tac Tome…
I have to be honest and say I didn’t know what to expect from this book. How can you play Tic-Tac-Toe with a book? I grabbed my pencil & pad and prepared my mind to beat this book at its own game.
Right from the start – the book challenges you with the tag line… “The Book That Will Beat You at Tic-Tac-Toe.” The first thing you ask yourself is “How will a book beat me at Tic-Tac-Toe?” Remember we are talking about a book right?
Will Yonkers offers very precise instructions on how to play the game. You pick a numbered square – and then turn to that page. Once you turn to the page – you will see the book has made its move. So you pick another number aka move then turn to that page. This process continues until you get your butt whipped or end up with a tie game. The book was correct… You can NEVER win. If you are a person that don’t like to admit defeat this is the game for you.
Tic Tac Tome is a very clever, brilliant, mind-boggling game. I guarantee you will find yourself sitting in one place for a few hours trying to figure out how you let a book beat you at Tic-Tac-Toe.
