Scarsdale Blues is a poetry collection that raises awareness about healing and accountability. It paints a picture of the many hues of pain that surrounds being loved by someone who has been hurt before. The idea that hurt people go on to hurt people lends perspective and serves as an eye-opener that if we underestimate the power of healing, someday we may all end up with scars and blues.

There’s an old saying that goes… “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” I think that saying is true when it comes to books. I was mindlessly scrolling IG when I came across a video that contained the poetry reading of Ellen C. Lomax. As I listened to the words, I felt a familiar sting in my heart. As soon as I finished watching the video, I searched for the book on Amazon and purchased it.

Scarsdale Blues is a collection of poetry that centers around the emotional rollercoaster ride of the thing we call LOVE.

As a kid, I believed poetry was about writing words that rhymed. As I became older and began writing poetry, I realized that writing poetry is the ability to lay your raw emotions on the table without worrying about how they may or may not be perceived. Do you understand how much strength it takes to do that? The best thing about it is that we all possess that strength once we tap into it.

Scarsdale Blues allowed me to experience the much-needed healing that I didn’t know I needed.

Author/Poet Ellen C. Lomax has delivered readers a masterpiece of the heart and mind. Even if you are not a reader of poetry – this is a book you can relate to because we have all have a story to tell when it comes to Love.

Highly Recommended.
