Review

Let me start this review off by saying – Romance is not the first genre I grab when I’m looking for something to read. But I always turn the pages with an open mind.

Ok! That sounded a bit stiff!

I always open the book looking for something/someone I can relate to – also a bit of nookie action doesn’t hurt one bit.

Even though the formula was familiar – “I’m feeling you, but I can’t afford for my heart to get hurt.” “No! I refuse to fall for you.” I did find myself captivated by the author’s writing style.

The story & characters were complex but very entertaining. There were times I did find myself wanting to strangle the characters a few times throughout the book. Once that happens, I know I’m invested in the characters and the story. I applaud Author Sheryl Lister for tackling some serious subjects that I don’t recall reading in any of the romance novels I had read. This is my first read from Author Lister but definitely won’t be my last.

Synopsis
He’s got all the right moves

Omar Drummond is a pro football superstar with a body that’s a pure work of art. But Morgan Gray is forbidden to act on their chemistry, or repeat their impulsive kiss. Proving her worth as a sports agent means securing the notorious celebrity as a client, not a lover. Yet between flowers, sweet notes and heady hotel interludes, Omar is shamelessly seducing her…

Other agents—and exes—have tried using Omar as a meal ticket, and he’s closed himself off from emotional entanglements. With Morgan, it’s a whole new playbook. Smart and tough, she can negotiate a contract and turn him on all in one go, and he craves more. But in matters of trust, he’s just fumbled badly. To win her, he has to show her the man he can be away from the pitch and the limelight, and hope that this time they’re both playing for keeps.

Buzzin’ about with Sheryl Lister

Would you have guessed…

What are three things your readers don’t know about you?

Let’s see, (1) I am an introvert; (2) outside of writing, I am a pediatric occupational therapist; and (3) I’ve recorded a song.

What is one of the most embarrassing situations you have had?

The most embarrassing situation I’ve been in has to be the surprise going away party co-workers threw. Three words: Male. Exotic. Dancer.

What is one thing you’ve always wanted to do, but have yet to do?

I would love to travel to Africa! There are so many countries I’d like to visit….Egypt, Madagascar, Morocco, Tanzania, Senegal…I think I’m going to be there a while.

What is your worst quality?

My worst quality has to be procrastination. When I’m supposed to be writing, somehow I find so many things that need to be done…

Where do you go to get away?

One of my favorite places to get away would be Oakland, CA near Jack London Square with my husband. We hang out for the weekend, drive over to San Francisco to have dinner and just chill. It’s the best kind of get away for me.

If you were granted one wish to change the world what would it be and why?

I’d change things so that everyone would have love in their hearts, to seek the best in people first, instead of looking for their worst. There is so much hatred and divisiveness now that I often have to step away from the television, newspapers and social media. I think if we all had a little more love, we could change this world for the better.

If you are given a chance to travel into the past where would you go and why?

I would most likely travel back to the time when my great-grandparents were alive. I am big on family history and I’ve learned some fascinating things secondhand. But I would love to sit at their feet, listen and learn from them.
