Review

Twins Calida and Teresita Santiago while very close as children are torn apart when one of them is ripped from the family and lied to in this compelling story by Victoria Fox. Growing up, one of the twins becomes jealous of the other, and it doesn’t help when Julia their mother feeds one of the twin stories that cause her to want to leave the farm they grew up on because the mother feels cheated by life and love.

When one twin wants out of Argentina by any means necessary and the other twin is determined to stay together because they are twins, this is the beginning of a saga that takes us from Argentina to Hollywood.

In London, actress Simone Geddes struggling with wanting a child of her own and is now married to a man with two out of control children from his previous marriage. Simone thinks if she can adopt a child to shower with love and all that life has to offer, that would make her situation bearable. At a party, she sees an actress with a baby and finds out the baby was adopted; she tells her manager to look into the possibility of getting a child for her to adopt. After her manager locates a child in Argentine, on the way to pick up the child they have a tire blowout at the farm of the twins and everyone’s life is changed forever.

While the story is compelling and caught my attention from the beginning, it was hard to read in some places due to editing. I did receive an e-book to review, and I certainly hope they fix that before the final copy. Aside from that, I enjoyed reading about the twins because they go through some tough times. All in all, it has everything you want in a page turner, mystery, love, sex, betrayal and more. I suggest if you’re looking for a book with drama, a bit spicy and a page turner this is the book for you.

This is my first time reading these authors work, and I would read others by Victoria Fox.
