Can young Harry Houdini use his dazzling trickery to find a vanished magician?

Young Houdini spends his days practicing magic tricks with his two best friends, Arthur and Billie. But when Harry's magical mentor, Herbie, disappears after a performance at the theater, the three friends band together, determined to rescue the beloved magician.

With nothing more than a mysterious puff of purple smoke, an ominous threat, and a menacing Bulgarian for evidence, Harry, Arthur, and Billie embark on a dangerously thrilling investigation that pushes their skill, and friendship, to the limits. Can Harry find Herbie and learn what it means to be a true friend before it's too late?

Review

I am not exactly a fan of magic and those kinds of stuff but Young Houdini: The Magician’s Fire is so much more than what anyone would expect.

The story is written in third person POV and is a teeny tiny bit confusing because it is written in a little bit of Old English. Not quite but definitely not modern English. The writing itself, though, is great.

I loved the story, especially the friendship factor and the revealing of the magic tricks, though if you ask me, it a bit that but still. I love mysteries and so I so lovelovelovelovelove this.

The story’s really short, fun, and action-packed. Witty and easy to read and definitely for any time of the day, year and even when you’re on the dumps.

I am going to question why they are so young, I mean, I got the memo that this is middle-grade, but still isn’t eleven a little too young to be able to solve magic tricks? Maybe that’s just me but I’m just saying, I’ll love this in a whole new level if they were a little older. Fourteen or fifteen, maybe?

Four stars! Go ahead and read this and you’ll be looking for the second book as hard as I am right now.
