This story begins with the couple we met in Ghettoway Weekend, and although this book can be read as a stand alone, I suggest reading the first book to understand the relationship and history of the characters in Later Days and Nights.

Matthew and Quijelmina (Mina) have adopted Mercedes and are now married. They have established a routine that sometimes takes them apart, but it is what they do to secure the future they want with each other. This part of their story deals with past relationships, Matts ex-wife and Mina’s Aunt Brinna who knowingly or unknowingly bring drama into the house.

This story is driven by thought and conversation but very well done. Mr. Christopher moves the story so that it is not boring or preachy. The characters are believable, the issues real and the emotions on point. One issue in particular that Mina deals with in the book was facing past issues with her Daddy. I know women who are still dealing with past issues with their father and in some cases unable to cope with relationships with men. So I thought the author handled that with a lot of sensitivity.

I recommend you read this book as this is a heartwarming story of love, faith, and family. It is sure to inspire and move you as it did me.
