Orsayor: What was the last lie you told?

Stacy: I told someone his cake was delicious and spat it out when he turned his back.

Orsayor: If your life was made into a movie what would the title be, and would it be a comedy, drama, or adventure flick?

Stacy: Laughing On the Outside. It would be a comedy/drama.

Orsayor: Who would you like to be stuck in the elevator with?

Stacy: I would love to be stuck in an elevator with Bill Withers. His music always fascinated me, and I’d love for him to share stories from his childhood with me.

Orsayor: What song best describes your work ethic?

Stacy: Super Bad by James Brown.

Orsayor: Is there one question above all else that you don’t want to answer about yourself?

Stacy: What is the question? No, I’m a pretty open book.

Orsayor: Can you tell readers about any upcoming books/projects?

Stacy: My next baby is due July 14, 2015. It’s titled “Wouldn’t Change A Thing,” and it’s the story of a woman whose carefully crafted lies about her life are exposed on the front page of the paper.  It’s a story that bumped around in my head for 15 years. I’m excited it’s finally in print.

I’m also wrapping up my fourth novel, Mattie’s Call, about a woman whose three adult children neglect her.  Mattie’s got spunk, though, and she teaches them all a valuable lesson.

Orsayor: Thank you for taking a “Time-Out” with me.

Stacy: Thanks so much for having me.

Stacy-Campbell

Stacy Campbell was born and raised in Sparta, Georgia. A graduate of Albany State University, Stacy was bitten by the writing bug after hearing her elderly relatives share family stories on her front porch.  Her work has been published by the Detroit Writers Guild, Indiana Writers at Home, and Georgia magazine.

Her first novel, Dream Girl Awakened, was published in February 2013 under Strebor Books, a Simon and Schuster imprint, as well as the sequel, Forgive Me.  Stacy’s third novel, Wouldn’t Change a Thing, explores mental illness and its effect on family members. When she’s not creating new characters or honing the writing craft, she’s spending time with her family, trying out new recipes, or dining at new restaurants for dinner ideas.
