REVIEW

Suburban Legends is a collection of short stories told in the style of The Twilight Zone and/or Tales From the Darkside.  While reading I could actually picture a narrator with a voice similar to Rod Sterling, which was the opening for each episode.  Reminiscent of old campfire stories, the author takes us to one of the scariest places on earth, The Suburbs.  The land of manicured lawns and minivans thar are holding dark secrets.

The book is broken up into several sections. The Tale of the Soccer Mom’s Secret.  Written like a good episode of the TV show, Snapped, we meet a woman, her lover and her dead husband.  Spared not are the details of the murder trial for which she and her lover were convicted of the death of her husband.

The sections dealing with ghosts and ghouls gave me nightmares.  I scare easily, however I could not turn away.  This book was lot of fun to read especially the sections on True Crime.  I loved how the author included pictures of the subjects in each story.  I recommend this book.
