REVIEW

Misty is BACK…and she is out of the coma! When she awakens she discovers that she has the gift of prophecy. She discovers this by accident. When she does though, Misty’s old way of thinking resurfaces…that of how to make a profit from her newfound abilities. Brick is right by Misty’s side when she awakens but he is doubtful of her abilities. Is she being truthful or is this just another one of Misty’s scams?

Misty has a hard time adjusting to the fact that she is no longer beautiful like she used to be since the side of her face looks grotesque. Even the janitor has a hard time looking at her when she tries to flirt with him. The fact that Misty is paralyzed from spinal cord injury and given that the doctors have told her she will never walk again makes Misty determined to prove them wrong. Not to mention she is willing to do anything to come up with the money needed to make her beautiful again.

Misty by Allison Hobbs is the 5th and final installment of the Double Dippin’ series. To be the final installment in the series, I have got to say I was highly disappointed. There are parts of the story that were too farfetched and totally unbelievable. Some of the people and scenes were insignificant to the overall story. Such as: there were too many sex scenes, which basically makes for filler pages. Some scenes jump from one thing, right to another, leaving the reader wondering when (timeframe) did that occur. Thus, making for an unclear timeframe, weeks, months, hours, etc, In all honesty, this was not Ms. Hobbs best novel to date. The novel seemed rushed and thrown together. It was a decent story, but it fell short of her previous novels.

2.5-stars
