REVIEW

First of all, I want to start off by saying I haven’t had the pleasure of reading many motivational genres themed books, and tend to shy away from them. The problem I came across with the few I have read, were they came across as very long-winded and didn’t invoke inspiring feelings after being read. It felt like an one-sided, uninteresting manual for what you should be doing or thinking in that writer’s opinion. I felt cheated in many ways. I believe a motivational speaker message, whether in print or in person should leave you feeling uplifted and ready to conquer any obstacles in your life/path.

With that being said, my opinion on the matter was blown out of the water after reading what author Gordon Tredgold had to say. This author’s words of wisdom speaks to you as a reader and makes you feel like any goal is attainable no matter what your current role in life is at this moment.

“Leadership: It’s A Marathon, Not A Sprint” resonated with me. The message is truthful and straight to the point, this era’s mindset, in my opinion, is get what you can – get it as fast as you can – get it and only look out for number one. In all actuality, we need to get back to basics and help each other meet our goals as a group/community again, no one does it alone.

The message the author conveys is anyone can be an inspiring leader with the right tools and mind-set. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for bring a positive change in his or her life. – Billie Jo
