Review: One More Dance – Valentine Cardinale

REVIEW

This was just an okay read for me. I liked the premise of the story but felt it was lacking in a lot of ways. First of all, this is a very short read, usually that doesn’t bother me but in this case it did. The story seemed very rushed to me, like the author didn’t want to spend too much time on any one person or idea, which was frustrating to me. I guess the story itself would have been better if more time was spent with the characters. It was just very hard to stay focused, once you start to get interested in what’s happening you’re on to the next thing.

I also thought it was strange that the main character was supposed to be concerned over what happened to his son, yet he was so fixated on meeting up with this mystery woman again. It just seemed very unrealistic and callous to me.

I would have to say this wasn’t a good fit for me.  I gave this book 2 stars.

  1. “Unrealistic and callous”? A man who lost his wife of 31 years meets a beautiful, caring, and sensitive woman at a wedding in Italy and sees a chance to build a new loving relationship with her. But then he’s confronted by a grave family crisis and puts his life on hold to deal with it. How is that unrealistic and callous? I can’t see your point, but thanks for taking the time to read my book. V.Cardinale
